Microsoft Outlook and Daylight Savings Time changes
Starting February 12, 2007, this month's Microsoft Critical Updates will begin to be applied to computers running the Windows operating system. One of the updates that will be included is a patch to change the DST or Daylight Savings Time period to correspond with the new federal DST time frame. While this patch should be transparent for most users, there are some instances where more attention may be needed.
If you are using Microsoft Outlook linked to Microsoft Exchange there could be an issue with some appointments during certain time periods as follows:
Appointments scheduled between March 11, 2007 and April 1, 2007 and/or scheduled between October 28, 2007 and November 4, 2007.
If you have items scheduled during either of these two timeframes and were entered prior to the DST critical update being applied to your computer (most probably today), these appointments could be off by one hour. There are two options available for correcting this:
1. Microsoft has made a tool available that will correct the time on any appointments scheduled during these timeframes. Click the link below to download, save and run this tool.
Please note that this tool should not be run before Monday, February 19th 2007.

2. You can manually rebase any affected appointments within Outlook.
Many users are seeing some issues with updating recurring appointments within the Public Folders area. Microsoft has not made a provision available for Public Folders and recurring appointments at this time. If this changes, we'll update it here.
